Oil Pressure Sensor Repair
Another mechanical calamity which recently befell me was the demise of my oil pressure sensor. Be sure that you look for the idiot light to come on each time that you start your car. Without a functioning oil pressure sensor, you could be in for some major repair bills when your oil-starved engine seizes on you.
To change the oil pressure sensor, all you need is a wrench and the new sensor. The sensor is located right next to the distributor cap. There is a wire that comes from the wiring harness and plugs right into the top of the sensor. Carefully remove the plug and inspect it for any wear. Undo the sensor, put the new one in the socket, tighten it up, reconnect the wire and you are good to go. Total cost is less than $20.00 and total time is less than 5 minutes.
