The new class sedans kept being improved upon with the typical formula...more power. The basic four door was improved with a full 2 litre engine. Other improvements included a more luxurious interior (wood trim on the dash and instruments) and larger tail lights.

The engine change was the key point. This two litre engine would later be put into the '02 body to form the 2002 which would redefine the company. Still, the 2000 was an improvement on an already solid formula which has not received the credit that it probably deserves.
